As you will all be aware, Cricket has been given the go ahead to start again which, is welcome news long overdue.
Being so far through the year arranging fixtures has its own challenge.
We are pleased to say that we are entered into the local mid week league which starts next Wednesday 15th at Hyde.
Dan has contacted all Sunday teams we are still due to play and we are please to say that all are still wanting to play and have even potentially added a further game in September.
Saturdays has been a little different with most not wanting to or entered for other fixtures. As a result we have applied to enter a team into the HCB’s fixtures scheme at a regional level. Fixtures are due out by 15th July. The intent is to have a max of 30 mins travel and an absolute max of 40 overs. Flexibility is given to both sides to determine the format but will be shorter than normal, especially considering all the cleaning breaks we must take (every 6 overs or 20 minutes).
As from Dans latest note, one side seemed best based on numbers who have committed to play, the flexibility of some if we have enough already and we always have midweek and Sundays.
Preparations are in plan and a clean of the pavilion will happen at the weekend.
For the ease of rules and containing the pavilion to meet the rules, we will ensure that you will only be able to access the main room to use the toilet. All other rooms will be off limits unless required for specific reason. This means no adhoc drinks to be made by players or spectators. This is in part to reduce the amount of cleaning required in between and after each game. All players need to arrive ready to play and will need to provide their own food and drink. A changing room must be available in an emergency for whatever reason but otherwise they are out of bounds.
We will produce signage but we strongly recommend reading all the guidance available from the ECB about your responsibilities and steps we must all take to get the game on. This is the link
We will ensure there is plenty of hand soap, paper towels, hand gel and anti bac wipes for the ball. We also have face masks on order for the medical box
We wish all a good start with this weekends friendly and some good games to come.
