The New Forest Cricket Association formed a colts section in 1978 and Burley fielded a side in the competition's very early days. In 2016, after a gap of many years, Burley restarted a colts section. An U13 team finished mid-table in the northern division of the New Forest League and reached the semifinal of the New Forest Cup, while an U9 team played in the Zooters competition at the Ageas Bowl.
In 2018 the U10s won the Division 2 League Cup in the East Dorset League and the U15s were runners-up in Division Three.
After winning the Sports Club of the Year trophy in the 2019 New Forest Sports Awards, the club raised £2,000 and bought a bowling machine to assist with the junior section, which continues to develop and has run every year despite the pandemic.
The club enters teams in the indoor leagues at Dorset every winter and more than 30 children play cricket at Burley every summer with some going on to play representative cricket for East Dorset and West Hampshire.
In 2022, the club will run All Stars and Dynamos and play matches at U9s and U14s. Colts' training will be on a Wednesday from 3:30pm on the green opposite the school and supervised by qualified coaches. The club has close links with Burley and Sopley junior schools and new players (boys or girls) and parents are always welcome.
