Burley Cricket Club 1st XI v Sway II on Sat 18 May 2013 at 14.00
Burley Cricket Club Won by 9 wickets

Match report A second impressive display ensured the 1st XI picked up successive league victories, putting Forest rivals Sway to the sword in a very one sided affair on the 'Green'.
Following rain in the week Burley captain, Kieron Hudson, won the toss, elected to field. Following 3 maidens Jim Burry made the first breakthrough in the 4th over bowling Sam Nailor for a duck. This was the beginning of regular wickets with all the Burley bowlers, except James Edworthy, getting involved. Again it was a team performance and all 11 players set high standards in the field which continually built pressure on the Sway batsmen. Runs proved hard to come by and at drinks (21 overs) the Sway innings looked precariously balanced on the precipice at 32-5. Not only was the top order sat back in the pavilion but a run rate of 1.5 would never build a commanding total. The pattern continued after the drinks break, Craig Doick picking up the wicket of Smith in the first over. Only Sway captain, Kevan Glass provided resistance to the Burley attack finishing undefeated on 37. The Sway innings was over in the 34th over when Doick had Patch trapped in front. With a powerful, deep Burley batting line up it was going to be imperative that Sway set a healthy total and being dismissed for just 89 meant that early wickets after tea were going to be vital.
Kieron Hudson and Jonathan Beck made sure this was not the case and that victory would be a formality putting on 68 for the first wicket. In contrast when the Sway innings reached 68 they were already 9 wickets down. In a repeat of the previous week's run chase, Beck was the only wicket to fall, caught by Stone off of the bowling of Patch and Hudson and James Edworthy completed the chase, with Hudson finishing 48 not out. Only dismissed once this season, to date Hudson's club average sits at a healthy 305!!
Following the match Sway skipper Kevan Glass conceded that they had been 'outgunned in every department' and sees Burley as one of three sides that will be fighting for top spot come the end of the season.
Next week sees the 1st XI back on their travels visiting Breamore whose first outing in Division 1 West saw them brush aside Godshill by 104 runs taking a maximum 24 points.
