Bramshaw v Burley Cricket Club U13 on Wed 06 Jul 2016 at 18.30
Burley Cricket Club Won by 6 wickets

Match report Burley rallied from a dramatic early batting collapse to edge past a battling Bramshaw team and secure a place in the semi-finals of the New Forest Cup.
The two sides had clashed in Burley on the opening day of the league season with the home side managing a comfortable victory but the cup game was a far closer affair.
Bramshaw batted first and lost Seb Legg early on to a smart run out from wicket keeper Aaron Piper. When Theo Scott bowled Sam Jones (6) and Alex Cooper (4) was caught by Ben Dukes off Ollie Fitch’s bowling, another comfortable home victory looked likely but Bramshaw’s young batters proved a resilient bunch.
With the visitors unwilling to risk losing their wicket and too much of the home bowling proving wayward a close game began to develop.
While only T Keil (10 n.o) made double figures for the visitors, Burley managed just two maidens from Sam Howson (0-1) and Scott Menary (0-5). Nathan Howson also proved economical but elsewhere a string of wides and no balls saw Bramshaw to set a challenging total of 83 for victory.
That looked particularly daunting as Burley lost their first three wickets without registering a single run with Piers Scott caught by Sam Jones for a duck amongst Bramshaw’s early victims.
Daniel Carter, who had earlier rooted out one of Bramshaw’s middle order, entered the fray and put in a superb performance to stop the rot.
Carter and Danny de Wet combined to calmly move Burley away from calamity and towards the chance of a place in the semi-finals.
De Wet was bowled by Legg but the collapse had been stemmed and Charlie Clamp came in at number six to produce his usual reliable lower-order performance.
Bramshaw’s bowlers found the combination of Clamp and Carter particularly difficult to remove. Carter retired on 32 not out and Burley’s number seven Dukes looked no more likely to being unseated.
Clamp (22 n.o.) and Dukes took the home side over the line in the twelfth over and into the semi-finals in team’s debut season.
