Burley Cricket Club

Parley v Burley Cricket Club U19 on Thu 17 Jun 2021 at 18:00
Burley Cricket Club Lost by 8 wickets

Match report A club record eight successive wins from Burley's adult and junior sections came to a shuddering halt after an understrength U19 side were outgunned at Parley.
In a game shortened to 15 overs due to poor light and the prospect of rain, Burley opted to bat against a Parley side itching for revenge after being thrashed by Burley during the indoor season.
Only Piers Scott (15) and Dan Carter (11) made an impact against accurate Parley bowling and a well-set field. With only eight players, captain Scott Menary was the last man standing to deny Parley full bowling points.
A total of 63 was always going to be hard to defend, particularly as Burley stuck to their policy of giving all players a bowl. Dan Carter removed Cameron Laird's wicket in the first over but Parley eased home in eight overs.
