Match report Burley's Sunday XI made their 2022 debut on the Green but fell short against Bournemouth Grammar School's old boys. After winning the toss, Burley elected to field but BSA's openers made early headway before Chris Aliano produced a stunning sliding catch to remove John Trenchard off Tarun Vermuri's bowling. Jack Webb also held onto a towering catch and Manjeet Grewal returned tidy figures of 3-25 but some loose fielding cost Burley. Rhys Gadsby (0-23) was the only bowler to produce a maiden and Duncan Loader produced a fine unbeaten 65 including clearing the ropes on the final ball to take the visitors to 208.
In response, Burley were ahead of the run rate after 10 overs as Dan Munday (26) and Rishi Katakam (14) went on the attack early on. Simon Webster hit 23 but BSA stemmed the tide. Vemuri produced a crashing innings at the death including a towering six to top score with 27 but Burley fell short.
