Match report Burley finished the league season with an emphatic 10 wicket victory over Bournemouth on the School Green. Bournemouth, asked to bat first, made 215 in their allocated 45 overs for the loss of 7 wickets. The innings was built on a 3rd wicket partnership of 84 between Phaneendra Valuri (60) and Robbie Hemmings (72 not out) but once Valuri had been bowled by, leading wicket taker, Kyle Hopkins Hemmings found runs and partners harder to come by. Only Gary Potter (28) stayed with Hemmings and the pair added 64 before Potter became one of three wickets for Tilly Callaghan, who finished with figures of 3-35. At tea 215 seemed a little under par for the quick Burley outfield and so it would prove. An unbroken stand of 217 between, openers, Kieron Hudson and James Brown saw Burley home with 5 overs to spare in a well timed run chase. Brown took the lions share of the run scoring finishing 132 not out with Hudson 68 not out, Burley ending with a resounding win and an 8th place finish in County Division 4 West, having won 8 and lost 8 with a tie as well.
